1. Have everything packed in boxes whenever possible (securely taped).

2. Have children & pets safely stored away from our huge feet!

3. Pack books, records, and other heavy items in SMALLER boxes! (if you have heavy things in too large of a box, it might take two of us to lift/move, so will cost you more money!).

4. Have some "Squishies" ready! Go ahead and put any soft things in heavy duty plastic bags. These are great for "wedging" in open spaces, and provide FREE cushioning for delicate furniture!

U Haul Seems lots more locations to choose from and less expensive. Lower to ground for easier loading! But check that fuel gauge against what they say it is!

Long Hauls

Penske From our experience and reports: Newer, nicer trucks, with good customer service.

ABF U-Pack: when you're not sure if all your stuff will fit into a rental truck, these guys might be great for you. You pay by the foot, they drop off big trailer, you hire us to load it, they drive it to your new town, then you hire some local guys to unload it!

Budget We used to recommend these with penske, but have been given older trucks with problems, and have shown up to get different price than what we reserved!
